New Head Chef for The Restaurant at the Art Gallery of NSW

Kieran Moore has been appointed head chef of The Restaurant at the Art Gallery of NSW, a member of the Trippas White Group. He will also oversee the Gallery’s café and events. Kieran comes to the Gallery with extensive experience as an international chef, having worked in Europe, USA, Australia, Middle East and Asia.

“This is a great opportunity to work in an iconic location that is steeped in history. The nature of the venue and its clientele lends to a sophistication in the food offering. I’m inspired to draw ideas from the art and manipulate my menus to suit the ambience of the venue,” said Kieran Moore. 

Kieran’s career started at the legendary Eccentric Club in London and The Savoy Hotel. He completed training under Marco Pierre White at the Michelin-starred Harvey’s and worked under Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saison. He was a key member in establishing the restaurants at Star City in Sydney and Disneyland Paris; the Diamond Club at Arsenals’ Emirates Stadium; and went on to be consultant chef for Lords Cricket Ground. He began a high-end event catering company in the UK nine years ago and has five gold medals and five silver medals from the Culinary Olympics.

Kieran introduced a selection of new desserts to The Restaurant’s current menu and will launch a new summer menu in the New Year. He plans to draw heavily on Sydney’s high-quality seafood and the diversity of seasonal produce available. His signature food style breaks down elements of traditional dishes and reconstructs them with a modern twist.   

The Restaurant at the Art Gallery of NSW is set in an impressive contemporary dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows and magnificent views over Woolloomooloo and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
